Summer of Anticipation

This photo from the Bridgeport train station in July illustrates our summer of anticipation well. We moved out of our DC apartment in June, but it didn’t make sense to fully move back into our newly renovated home for just a few months. Instead, we spent the summer floating among family, living out of backpacks and anxiously awaiting the next step. I’m the rip-off-the-Bandaid / leave the party through the back door type, so when I see this picture, I see the anxiety, the prep, the packing and unpacking, the build up, the long goodbyes. All things considered, the flight was a piece of cake. Overthinking before taking the leap? That part was hard.
